Stefanie is a journalist and photographer based in Kabul, Afghanistan.
She made one of the Atlantic, BBC, Foreign Policy, the Guardian and the Washington Post's best photo of the year in 2018 and won the Prix Varenne for her photography work with AFP.
Before moving to Afghanistan, she was based in South Sudan, working with AFP.
Stefanie previously covered conflict and natural disasters including the Rohingya refugee crisis, the Nepal earthquake, the Ebola crisis, the East African drought, the Lake Chad Basin displacement and the Syrian refugee crisis.
Her clients include AFP, The Guardian, The Economist, Reuters, Foreign Policy, and The Telegraph, among other.
She holds an MA in International Journalism from City, University of London and besides English, also speaks German and French.
